What information do we collect and how is it used?

We only collect the information that you actively provide us with. This is generally information provided when you request a tenant credit search, full tenant profile or purchase a product or service from us. Information we hold about you will be used for the following purposes:

  • To enable us to identify you when you contact us or we contact you; appropriate independent advice.
  • To undertake credit checks using third party credit reference agencies
  • To contact referees for financial and personal references
  • To establish your future performance as a tenant
  • In the event of rental default your information will be registered with Uktenantdata (trading style of Ifaqs Limited)and this information will be available to be viewed by registered subscribers of our services and third party credit reference agencies to establish your future financial performance;
  • Should possession proceedings be required against you, your details and details of the arrears, if any, will be passed to our legal partners who in turn will use this information to instigate proceedings against you
  • To enable us to identify products or services for which you may be eligible;
  • To consider any applications for products or services you may make;
  • To help administer and contact you about improved administration of any products and services we have provided previously, now or in the future;
  • To assist in making decisions on any claim you may make;
  • To help to prevent and detect fraud or loss;
  • To contact you in any way, where you have previously consented, about products or services offered by us

  • You have given your consent; or
  • Disclosure is required or permitted by law or regulation; or
  • It is necessary for the performance of your agreement with us; or
  • The relevant third party provides services to you in connection with our agreement with you; or
  • The relevant third party is a credit reference agency or fraud prevention agency.

What information do we collect and how is it used?

In some exceptional circumstances we may deal with people who contact us on your behalf, such as family members, although we will not disclose to them any personal information we hold about you. If you would prefer us to deal only with you, please let us know. Where you give us information on behalf of someone else you confirm that they are aware of and accept our Privacy Policy.

Any personal information is held safely within our security systems preventing unauthorised access.

Data Protection

The data protection principles
The Data Protection Act 1998 governs the use of personal information through the eight data protection principles. These principles require that personal information is:

  • kept secure with appropriate technical and organisational measures taken to protect the information
  • not transferred outside the European Economic Area (the European Union member states plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) unless there is adequate protection for the personal information being transferred
